Incubator Business - Haliburton Language School

The Haliburton Creative Business Incubator is pleased to welcome The Haliburton Language School, owned and operated by Karra Wesley as a client of the incubation program.
The Haliburton Language School, provides English as a Second Language programs for people of all ages and at all levels as well as foreign language instruction for people requiring language proficiency for travel or business.
The Haliburton Language School offers packages from three days to a month for international tourists, students and business groups. The program involves part of each day involved in language lessons and the rest of the day using new language skills in experiencing outdoor and cultural activities in the region. The School is working with the Bark Lake Leadership Centre and Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve as well as other accommodators and experience providers in the Haliburton Highlands.
Haliburton Language School will also provide foreign language lessons for people in the Haliburton region and provides specialized programs for clients such as the RCMP and the Canada Revenue Agency.
The School will use its space in the Incubator for its office and for individual and small group language lessons. Work with visiting groups will be done at sites throughout the Highlands.
Wesley has taught in Japan, Korea and Indonesia and has run a number of special language projects in Canada. Karra and her husband recently moved to the Haliburton area. She is delighted to be the first business in the Haliburton Creative Business Incubator.
The Haliburton Creative Business Incubator is a program of the Haliburton County Development Corporation. By offering expertise, guidance and support, the incubation program is dedicated to providing a sustainable environment in which new and emerging companies can develop and achieve growth.
This type of environment will result in profitable businesses, job creation, economic growth, div
ersity, and a positive impact on communities in Haliburton County.
The incubator provides flexible, affordable space and mentorship for four new and emerging knowledge-based businesses in a central location in the Village of Haliburton. The incubator will provide entrepreneurs with a flexible, affordable space; ready access to business support assistance and coaching, broadband service and an environment conducive to entrepreneurial growth.
The facility (the newly renovated old Haliburton library building in downtown Haliburton) has been made possible through the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Eastern Ontario Development Program, the Municipality of Dysart et al and the Haliburton County Development Corporation.
