A unique experience for a Korean family who had never been outside a city
NEWS BULLETIN: July 12th, 2010
The Haliburton Creative Business Incubator’s first client is launching with a flourish.
Karra Wesley, owner operator of the Haliburton Language School, is preparing to accept overseas students from Japan, Korea and Indonesia. Over the Canada Day weekend, the language school hosted Eun-Gyoung Seo, her husband and son.
Eun- Gyoung, a professor from Seoul University, had been engaged in teaching projects at the U of T. They had never stayed outside a large city. Their first experience outside a city was to Haliburton.
Over the 3 days Eun- Gyoung and her family experienced a log cabin cottage, a boat cruise on Boshkung Lake, hiking in Haliburton Highlands, Canada Day fireworks, the historic Log Chute and Haliburton Forest. “It’s like heaven, like I’m in a dream” said Eun-Gyoung’s husband. (“This is such a great experience and we will be back!”)
Eun-Gyoung was so moved by the visit that she will be making a presentation to promote Haliburton Language School to students at Seoul University.
Karra also expects student bookings from Japan, through her agent, to begin almost immediately. The Haliburton Language School already has private tutoring arrangements (in person and on-line) in place.
The Haliburton Creative Business Incubator’s two year program is designed to assist emerging entrepreneurial businesses with affordable work space and a personalized business mentor program. Mike Jaycock, manager of the program, invites those interested to download the information and application package from the Haliburton CDC website.
