Arts & Culture

In virtually every corner of the communities in the area, creativity is evident across a wide spectrum of specialties. Around every corner you'll see a gallery, a studio, a museum, or a theatre. From pottery to watercolors, oils to glassblowing, you'll see it all in Haliburton.

Our creative community can be found in many of the established special interest groups:

We are fortunate to have a number of Gallery’s in the county and we take particular pride in our community galleries including:

Local elementary and secondary schools encourage students to discover the arts, music and drama. The Haliburton Highlands Secondary School houses the Northern Lights Performing Arts Pavilion home to the Highlands Summer Theatre Festival and the Highlands Opera Studio, headed by one of the most critically acclaimed opera singers on the international stage today, Richard Margison.

Haliburton, known as “Where it’s Art”, is home to The Haliburton School of The Arts at the Haliburton Campus of Fleming College. The College provides top rated arts education and higher learning opportunities for the community and attracts 3500 participants from around the world to its summer programs and 160 students in the certificate and diploma programs offered during the school year. The College also runs a 6 month program on Sustainable Building Design and Construction in which the students build a sustainable building for a not-for-profit organization in the region.

Haliburton is a place that offers a unique working environment and a lifestyle that can satisfy mind and body.
