The following is a list of funding resources and supports we are aware of to help you grow your business. Please click on each link for more information about the program and how to apply.
The Regional Tourism Relief Fund – Ontario’s Highlands (RTRF-Ontario’s Highlands) is an application-based program funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). This fund will help facilitate the recovery and long-term growth of the tourism economy within the region, supporting tourism stakeholder investment into experience development, experience enhancement, and destination development programs.
Eligible applicants and projects successfully awarded will be funded based on non-repayable contributions of up to $100,000 for up to 50% of eligible costs for for-profit incorporated businesses and up to 100% of eligible costs for not-for-profit incorporated organizations.
Applications now open until May 15, 2022.
Canada Digital Adoption Program: There are two streams under this program.
- Grow a Business On-line: Apply for a micro-grant and access e-commerce advisors to help you go digital and take advantage of e-commerce opportunities. $2400.00
- Boost Your Business Technology: Apply for a grant to help you develop a digital plan, and leverage funded work placements to help with your digital transformation. Up to $15,000 towards planning.
Ontario Business Costs Rebate Program: Eligible businesses that are required to close or reduce capacity will receive rebate payments for a portion of the property tax and energy costs they incur while subject to these measures. Eligible businesses required to reduce capacity to 50 per cent, such as smaller retail stores, will receive a rebate payment equivalent to 50 per cent of their costs, while businesses required to close for indoor activities, such as restaurants and gyms, will receive a rebate payment equivalent to 100 per cent of their costs.
A full list of eligible business types will be available through a program guide in mid-January 2022.
Online applications for this program will open in January 18 2022. Payments to eligible businesses will be retroactive to December 19, 2021.
The Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF)
Support available includes:
Loans - Up to 15% funding to a maximum of $5 Million, interest free during the project period. Up to 30% of the loan to a maximum of $500,000 may be forgiven if investment and job targets are achieved
Grants - Grants are available only for specific circumstances:
- Up to 15% to a maximum of $500,000 for companies with less than 100 employees and that are located in rural Ontario
- Up to $1.5 Million for strategic projects that are direct foreign investments or from companies competing against other jurisdictions.
Tourism Relief Fund: Administered by Canada's regional development agencies and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), supports tourism businesses and organizations to adapt their operations to meet public health requirements while investing in products and services to facilitate their future growth. This fund will position Canada to be a destination of choice when domestic and international travel is once again safe by:
- empowering tourism businesses to create new or enhance existing tourism experiences and products to attract more local and domestic visitors; and
- helping the sector reposition itself to welcome international visitors by providing the best Canadian tourism experiences we have to offer the world.

Jobs and Growth Fund: The Jobs and Growth Fund provides funding to businesses and organizations to help create jobs and position local economies for long-term growth. Businesses and not for profits are eligible.
Eligible activities
- Activities that support the transition to a green economy, including those that:
- Activities that foster an inclusive recovery
- Activities that preserve Canada's competitiveness and future-proof SMEs through digital adoption
- Activities that strengthen capacity in sectors critical to Canada's recovery and growth
The Regional Opportunities Investment Tax Credit: This is a 10% refundable Corporate Income Tax credit for corporations that invest more than $50,000 to construct, renovate or acquire eligible commercial and industrial buildings in our region.
Canadian Business Resilience Network: Canadian Chamber of Commerce resource to help the business community prepare, persevere and ultimately, prosper as we collectively face the COVID-19 pandemic.
