The Tourism Development Fund Program is a cost-sharing program designed to provide non-capital funding to projects that:
- encourages the development of innovative new tourism products
- supports tourism investment
- builds the capacity of Ontario’s tourism industry to foster new tourism investments
The Tourism Development Fund Program aims to support projects that will increase tourist visitation and visitor spending in Ontario by:
- developing innovative tourism products and experiences
- increasing domestic and/or foreign private sector tourism investment
- strengthening the skills, resources and abilities of the tourism industry to attract or support new tourism investments
Deadline for applications: September 14, 2023
Tourism Recovery & Innovation Partnerships Projects Program: OHTO is pleased to be accepting applications for the Tourism REcovery and Innovation Partnership Projects Program. TRIPP is intended for collaborative projects involving two or more partners. This program offers up to $5,000 for projects occurring between April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. Projects should support one or more of the following principles of responsible tourism:
1) Inclusivity – The project supports diversity, equity and inclusion.
2) Community Alignment – Meets the needs of visitors, while enhancing the quality of life for residents.
3) Sustainability – Provides long-term environmental, socio-cultural and economic benefits to the community.
We are seeking project applications in the following categories:
• Product Development
• Marketing
• Skills Development
• Strategic Development
Digital Transformation Grant: The Digital Transformation Grant application portal is now open for eligible brick-and-mortar small business to apply. The Digital Transformation Grant (DTG) program is focused on assisting small businesses with their adoption of technologies. The program provides training, advisory support and grants to brick-and-mortar small businesses looking to increase their capacity through digital transformation.
The application portal is now open and remains open until September 30, 2023 or until the grant funds are exhausted.
Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan (DMAP) & Technology Demonstration Program:
DCC has two program streams to support SMEs in the adoption and implementation of digital technology:
Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan (DMAP):
- Grant of up to $15k to support a consultant (Digital Adoption Consultant) to develop a digital modernization and adoption plan (DMAP) tailored to the organization’s digital needs
Best suited for:
- SMEs looking to understand their digital needs and adopt and implement digital technologies to grow their company
- Ontario-based for-profit SMEs with between 1-499 employees
Technology Demonstration Program:
- Grant of up to $150k to implement the recommendations of the completed DMAP project via a technology demonstration project
Best suited for:
- SMEs who have completed a DMAP project and are looking to adopt and implement the digital technology laid out in the DMAP
- Ontario-based for-profit SMEs with between 1-499 employees
- SMEs with at least $500,000 of annual revenue in one of the last three tax years
- Eligible expenses include acquiring, integrating, or developing software, equipment, and hardware. Examples of digital technologies supported include, but are not limited to CRM, ERP, cloud computing, automation, AI, and sensor technologies.
- Hardware and accompanying software up to 20% of total grant amount. This could include robotics.
Canada Digital Adoption Program: There are two streams under this program.
- Grow a Business On-line: Apply for a micro-grant and access e-commerce advisors to help you go digital and take advantage of e-commerce opportunities. $2400.00
- Boost Your Business Technology: Apply for a grant to help you develop a digital plan, and leverage funded work placements to help with your digital transformation. Up to $15,000 towards planning.
The Health and Safety Excellence program helps you make your workplace safer, while earning rebates on your WSIB premiums. Through our program, you’ll benefit from:
- Reduced risk of injuries and illnesses in your workplace and a stronger health and safety culture
- Recognition to show your commitment to health and safety to your employees, customers and community
- And if you’re a smaller business (1-99 full-time employees), you can earn double the rebates on your annual WSIB premiums, plus $1,000 toward your health and safety plan, in 2023!
The Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF)
Support available includes:
Loans - Up to 15% funding to a maximum of $5 Million, interest free during the project period. Up to 30% of the loan to a maximum of $500,000 may be forgiven if investment and job targets are achieved
Grants - Grants are available only for specific circumstances:
- Up to 15% to a maximum of $500,000 for companies with less than 100 employees and that are located in rural Ontario
- Up to $1.5 Million for strategic projects that are direct foreign investments or from companies competing against other jurisdictions.
The Regional Opportunities Investment Tax Credit: This is a 10% refundable Corporate Income Tax credit for corporations that invest more than $50,000 to construct, renovate or acquire eligible commercial and industrial buildings in our region.
