About Our Incubator
By offering expertise, guidance and support, the HCDC incubation program is dedicated to providing a sustainable environment in which new and emerging companies can develop and achieve growth. This type of environment will result in profitable businesses, job creation, economic growth, diversity, and a positive impact on communities in Haliburton County.
The incubator provides flexible, affordable space and mentorship for four new and emerging creative businesses in a central location in the Village of Haliburton.
Since the Incubator opened in July of 2010 we have nurtured six new businesses which have created 20 new jobs in the community. Since July 2014 the Incubator has shifted its focus to businesses and social enterprises working in the areas of digital media and hi-tech.
The incubator provides entrepreneurs with a flexible, affordable space; ready access to business support assistance and coaching, broadband service and an environment conducive to entrepreneurial growth.
The facility (the renovated old Haliburton library building in downtown Haliburton) has been made possible through the support of the Ontario Ministry of Culture's Cultural Strategic Investment Fund, Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Eastern Ontario Development Program, the Municipality of Dysart et al, the Haliburton County Development Corporation, FedDev and other businesses and organizations.
