Step of Grace
Step of Grace conditioning clinic is a culmination of a dream and lots of hard work by Jane Schmidt and Heather Seabrooke. Jane and Heather, who come from health and fitness backgrounds, realized they shared a passion to see every person regardless of their ability or disability to remain active and enjoy the best quality of life possible. Both women are certified personal trainers, certified medical exercise specialists with physical education and physio-assistant backgrounds.
Step of Grace is a complimentary step in the health care system for Haliburton County. The business is geared to clients who have been released from a medical professional (physician, chiropractor, physiotherapist) or are preparing to undergo joint replacement surgery or are perhaps dealing with chronic issues including back pain, arthritis, diabetes, weight reduction or hypertension. Each client undergoes an assessment in order to develop and implement a specialized individual exercise program.
The goal of Step of Grace is to advance clients to a point where they are able to get back into programs in the community like yoga, tai chi, active aging classes or a local gym. Jane and Heather, for those who require it, also offer continuing care.
A healthy, active community is the heart beat for the Step of Grace Post Rehab Conditioning Clinic. The clinic is the first of its kind in Haliburton County and will save local residents and seasonal guests from having to go out-of-town for these critical services.
“The largest benefit of the incubator was the ability to have affordable office space which allowed Step of Grace to successfully grow. Along with the welcoming environment, the mentorship from successful business professionals provided us with a strong foundation for future success.” – Heather Seabrook, Step of Grace
