The HCDC staff are pleased to provide information and advice to not-for-profit organizations. Haliburton County Development Corporation is committed to increasing community and regional capacity through community economic development.

The HCDC believes that building and maintaining a strong foundation for the community and supporting the growth and development of economic sectors that are compatible with a healthy natural environment will support community economic development and increase permanent employment in Haliburton County.

We believe that a strong foundation for the community includes:

HCDC works with community groups, not-for-profit organizations, municipalities and other government agencies to strengthen this foundation and to support community economic development in Haliburton County.

We are always pleased to talk with community members about ideas and opportunities to see how we can be of assistance. HCDC can provide community members with available resources, information, can connect community members with others groups involved in similar activities, or review opportunities for funding.

Information for Non-Profits

Canada Helps has released a YouTube video that is generating some interesting discussion about the future of communications and fundraising for Canadian organizations. The video, modelled after the popular Did You Know series, provides interesting Canadian statistics relating to Internet usage, social media, online giving, and what all of this means for nonprofits and charities.
