Have your Say! Canada’s Rural Development Action Plan – Consultation Process

The federal government has launched a consultation to help shape a Rural Development Action Plan and are inviting all rural communities, residents, businesses and organizations to participate in an online survey.

The survey questions focus on programs and initiatives that are provided by the federal government (a list of some of those initiatives can be found here), but also speak to broader initiatives or ideas.

Here are the key consultation questions:

1. How can federal initiatives be improved to better address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by your rural community?

2. What federal, provincial, territorial, or regional programs have worked well in promoting rural development within your region?

3. What policy changes or new initiatives would make the biggest difference for the long-term sustainability of your region, and how should we measure their success?
