Regional Tariff Response Initiative in Southern Ontario
The Government of Canada has announced an expansion to the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI) to support businesses affected by tariffs, including those facing liquidity challenges.
Eligible businesses may apply for up to 12 months of liquidity assistance, pivot project funding, or both.
- A business may receive up to a maximum of $3 million in combined non-repayable funding, consisting of up to $2 million in liquidity assistance and up to $1 million for a non-repayable pivot project.
- A business may receive up to a maximum of $20 million in total RTRI funding when repayable support is included. This maximum could include non-repayable liquidity assistance, up to $2 million.

Funding per recipient
Businesses can normally request:
$125,000 to $10 million in repayable funding; or
$125,000 to $1 million in non-repayable funding.
Not-for-profit organizations can normally request a minimum of $125,000 to $10 million in non-repayable funding.
Eligible applicants:
Incorporated for-profit businesses located and operating in southern Ontario.
Not-for-profit organizations in southern Ontario whose primary focus is to support SMEs.
Canada Strong Diversification Fund
The Canada Strong Diversification Fund (CSDF), delivered through the Strategic Response Fund (SRF), provides support to Canadian businesses facing significant impacts from U.S. tariffs. Building on existing support within the program, this fund will help businesses support business continuity and supply chains, protect jobs and strengthen economic resilience in the face of ongoing trade disruptions.
